Instructions to make a napkin pumpkin craft:
- Begin by removing the pumpkin stem or covering it so that it does not get any Mod Podge on it.
- Cut the napkin into small pieces. If you have printed things on the napkins (I had fall leaves on the one shown) cut those out.
- Place the pumpkin on a small paper plate to keep it neat and from sticking to anything as it dries.
- Brush the top part of the pumpkin with a thin layer of Mod Podge. Note: Leave the bottom part alone for now, we’ll do the bottom later after the top dries. This will keep it from sticking to your surface, plus it will make it way less messy.
- Place a napkin piece on the Mod Podge coated pumpkin. Brush more Mod Podge over the top of the napkin piece.
- Repeat, covering the whole top of the pumpkin, leaving the bottom uncovered.
- Let dry overnight.
- When completely dry, flip the pumpkin over and repeat for the bottom of the pumpkin with the rest of the napkin pieces.
- Let dry overnight.
- After everything is completely dry, re-punch hole in the top of the pumpkin where the stem was (it will be covered with the napkin layers). You can use a yarn needle, pen, pencil, or scissors to do this. It will punch through very easily through the napkin.
- Glue the stem back on and let dry.
- Tie a piece of ribbon around the stem for some added texture and a finished look.
