Instructions:

  • Cut a strip of construction paper about 12 inches long by 2 inches wide.
  • Fold the strip into an accordion shape (like a zig zag).
  • Keeping the accordion folded together, lightly sketch a pumpkin onto the top of the accordion.
  • Be sure the edges of the pumpkin on either side where the folds are kind of “run off” the edges, because the accordion folds are what will keep the pumpkins attached.
  • No need for perfection when sketching, it’s actually fun when you get all kinds of different pumpkin shapes and styles!
  • Carefully cut the shape out, keeping the side paper folds on either side intact as you cut around.
  • Open your chain up and admire the cute little pumpkins all in a row!

Here’s how you can use your Pumpkin Paper Chains Craft:

  • Class Halloween party activity
  • Cute bookmark
  • Neat way to send a secret message
  • Tiny banner
  • Cute little fall-themed note inside of someone’s lunch!
