Do you have a bunch of yarn scraps piling up? Let’s make a scrap yarn crochet cowl! Stitch this one up in some thick squishy yarn in just eight rounds! Try making one like I did in lots of different colors in odds and ends and they’ll all have their own unique look!

Materials:
- 10 mm crochet hook
- 100 yards of #6/super bulky weight yarn (I used Wool Ease Thick and Quick from Lion Brand)
- Yarn/tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
Sizing:
- 8 inches tall
- 28 inch circumference

Pattern Notes:
- No special stitch count for this pattern, make the starting chain as big as you want for the circumference!
- Cowl shown was worked in 8 rounds but you can keep going for an taller/slouchier cowl too!
- Mixing up the yarn that you have on hand makes this pattern extra fun. Try a bunch of colors, but also variegated yarn, glittery yarn, metallics, and self striping for a variety of effects!

Scrap Yarn Crochet Cowl Pattern:
- Chain 48 (or any number of chains you want to adjust the circumference).
- Round 1: Chain 3, then work a double crochet into the first chain and into each chain around. Join to close the round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch to close the round.
- Round 2: Chain 3, then work a double crochet into the first stitch and into each stitch around. Join to close the round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch to close the round.
- Rounds 3-8: Repeat round 2.
- For the cowl pictured, I worked 8 rounds, but you can keep going to make it taller if you like.
Finishing:
- Weave all ends and your cowl is ready to wear!
